As promised to many of my blog fans (all two of them who asked when I would post next), here is my post-election blog post.
The expectation may be that I'm going to gush about Barack and his amazing campaign. Although I'd like to, I think everyone can guess how I feel about him winning. I think he ran a compassionate, honest, caring, powerful, motivating campaign and I am very proud of him. I am pround that I voted for him, and for maybe the second time in my life, I am proud to be an american. Yes, the cliche phrase that everyone rolls their eyes at has finally made it into my blog.
But I feel some things I didn't realize I'd feel after our victory. I feel empowered, because I finally realized just how much my vote counts (yes, even in Utah!). I feel excited for our political future, it will be refreshing to actually like our president! And, I feel like I'm going to cry. I have never felt so strongly about any issue, election or campaign. Ever.
For the first time in my lifetime, this country has banded togther to choose the right candidate. The people who brought him to this office did so knowing he was the right man for the job, those who didn't help his campaign, well, they will find out soon enough!
I'm so excited to change my catch phrase from "Yes We Can" to "Yes We DID!"
