I am the proud owner of a shiny, new, hard-earned A. I know, people get them all the time, but this I am so excited about!! I haven't gotten very good grades in college, simply because I haven't put the effort in. This time I finally did, and I didn't get just any A, I got an A in my hardest class! Yay!

Happy Thanksgibing Back...

So I felt like a domestic goddess today. I made four pies for Thanksgiving- two pecan, two punkin- did laundry, dishes and ironed. It actually wasn't very fulfilling. Well, the pies were fun to make, but the rest was less than awesome. I should've picked up a shift at work.. I've decided I'm going to start up a cooking blog.. I'll start blogging about rice crispy treats and hot cocoa, since those are the only two things I make without starting the house on fire...

One of many...

Ok, here's one photo from our wedding! I have many more to come, I just can't seem to figure out how to rotate them (I mean, I know how, they just won't do it... I need some Evan help)..

This is brilliant

As promised to many of my blog fans (all two of them who asked when I would post next), here is my post-election blog post.
The expectation may be that I'm going to gush about Barack and his amazing campaign. Although I'd like to, I think everyone can guess how I feel about him winning. I think he ran a compassionate, honest, caring, powerful, motivating campaign and I am very proud of him. I am pround that I voted for him, and for maybe the second time in my life, I am proud to be an american. Yes, the cliche phrase that everyone rolls their eyes at has finally made it into my blog.
But I feel some things I didn't realize I'd feel after our victory. I feel empowered, because I finally realized just how much my vote counts (yes, even in Utah!). I feel excited for our political future, it will be refreshing to actually like our president! And, I feel like I'm going to cry. I have never felt so strongly about any issue, election or campaign. Ever.
For the first time in my lifetime, this country has banded togther to choose the right candidate. The people who brought him to this office did so knowing he was the right man for the job, those who didn't help his campaign, well, they will find out soon enough!

I'm so excited to change my catch phrase from "Yes We Can" to "Yes We DID!"

Yes we can...

I have a vote and I know how to use it!

In watching the democratic national convention tonight, I became very inspired. I have a lot of respect for Barack Obama, and completely support him. But not blindly. I think a lot of people believe he will do absolutely everything he says he will do. But he won't. And that's ok. He will do a lot of it though, and people will still be upset with him for not doing it all. But we all do that... wake up in the morning with grand expectations of ourselves, hoping to conquer the world by the end of the day. What's wrong with Obama doing the same thing? If we all went through our lives saying 'I'm going to eat once today, I'm going to half ass my job and get in a fight with my spouse tonight' what kind of fun would that be, everyone only planning on sliding under the radar everyday. It would do the U.S. and the world good to have someone in office that has goals, expectations and ideas. Ideas that don't involve war, and expectations other than the bare minimum. I believe that what we need is someone who doesn't have the years in office that have worn him down. I believe the person who will bring us change (good change) is a fresh face who hasn't been corrupted. I completely believe that the person who will lift us from debt and welfare, who will foster an environment of fairness and peace, who will tolerate nothing less than equality and who will turn this car around if everyone does NOT stop fighting is Barack Obama. Please vote, whoever you decide to vote for. It is important, and it does count.

Woo hoo! Here are another two. I think I'm over this style though.. Onto something better! I think I'm going to start working with stencils. We all know I can only draw stick figures, so I think I'll stick with words. I need ideas, so if anyone has any... Let me know!

YAY! I've started making shirts! This is my first one, but I'm hoping the others will be just as magical..

So I'm in my map...

It's been so long since I posted! But no one is reading so I guess it doesn't matter...
Lots to talk about.. Evan and I went to Europe a couple months ago and it was so magical! We started our trip off in Scotland, staying two nights in Edinburgh and one in Dumfries, where we went to a wedding for Evan's friend Josh. Scotland was my favorite part. It was so green and there were so many cute little sheep everywhere!
We took a train from Scotland to London and stayed there for four nights. London was fun too but it was soooo cold! We saw a lot of cool things like Westminster Abbey, The London Eye, Tate Modern, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Shakespeare's Globe theater (which was not the original, and I was salty that I didn't know that before we paid admission to get in!), St. Paul's Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus.. etc.

From London, we took the Chunnel to Paris. It was quick and painless, but not very scenic (I guess you can't really see through a tunnel). Paris was very fun, but very dirty. EVERYONE smokes in Paris, so it's virtually impossible to get a breath of fresh air. Jerks. Our hotel room didn't have it's own shower or toilet, so that was an interesting experience. They were relatively clean though, considering they were shared facilities. We day tripped out to Versailles and saw the Palace of the Sun King. It was so pretty! The Hall of Mirrors was cool, and it was so awesome to see all the history! It makes everything seem much more real when you're up close to it all. Marie Antoinette didn't seem like just a story anymore! We saw Notre Dame Cathedral, but didn't go to the top. The cathedral was beautiful, but it was very commercialized. They still hold services there, but they allow tons of people in at a time, don't tell people to be quiet, and allow pictures to be taken. We took a few, but it just didn't seem right. We saw the Eiffel Tower at night, which was very cool. The tower has strobe lights all over it and every hour after dark, they light up to make the tower twinkle. After waiting in line and seeing everything from the top, we came down starving! We stopped at a little snack shack, but since it was late, they only has 'sausage frites', which is fries under hot dogs, drenched in mayonaisse. It was less that appetizing, but when you're starving, sausage frites are good enough! We also went to the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa. It was small. There were a ton of great paintings and sculptures there, but I think it was too vast to take in in one day. Or at least in the time we were there (we had a tendancy to wake up a little later than we'd like). After seeing the Louvre, we walked all the way down the Champs-Elysees, which is like 80 miles. Ok, it's really only about two and a half miles, but it seemed like forever. Anyway, so after the Louvre and the Arc du Triomphe, we walked back down Champs-Elysees, and as the sun was setting, Evan said, 'Hey, let's go sit on this bench and I'll give you a surprise." A surprise? I LOVE surprises! Well, we sat down and he made me close my eyes and when I opened them he
was holding the most beautiful diamond ring! Then he said 'Will you marry me?!' uh, YES!!!!!!!!!
It was so magical and amazing! I didn't even know he had the ring or anything. What a sneaky guy! Man I love him!
Well, after Paris, we headed up to Amsterdam. On the train we encountered the stinkiest man on earth. NOT JOKING. I had to breathe through my sweatshirt almost the whole time. Totally disgusting. Ugh. It's burned into my nostrils! Terrible. Amsterdam was fun, but by the time we got there, I had e.Coli in my bladder. We saw the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, and lots of parks (where our allergies went crazy!). The trip home was much anticipated and enjoyed! Even though we had to spend 8 hours on a plane with the most annoying Dutch kid EVER, and even though we had to sit in the Kentucky airport for 5 hours, and even though I had to go to work the next day, I still was excited to come home. Anyway, the trip was so fun! It was a great experience and so many fun things happened! But my favorite part was Evan, and I get to see him all the time :)

second wife

We've been watching a lot of Big Love lately, and it kinda got me thinking.. How would it be to be married to Bill Henrickson? Of course, he's handsome and successful, but what of all the other wives?
Being first wife wouldn't be bad... or would it? She has the authority over the other wives, but wouldn't she always have the thought in her mind that if she really was a good wife, he wouldn't have to go out and get another one.. or two..
Oh and second wife? No way. Bad news. She's stuck in the middle all the time. She used to be new but since third wife came along, she's been put aside... It's like being the middle child. She's totally neglected and she knows it. No wonder Nikki is always pulling stunts to get attention.
But third wife... she's got it made. Just like the youngest child, she's spoiled rotten and always the favorite. That's where I'd want to be.
If I had to chose who my sister wives were going to be I'd pick Tina Fey and Portia di Rossi. Tina because she's cute and nice and smart and super funny. She'd be like your best friend AND your sister wife. She's totally shopping buddy material. And with someone that nice sharing your house, you wouldn't mind sharing a husband.
And Portia because she's obviously not invading any of your intimate territories. She's totally Switzerland when it comes to that. But she's hot so she'd make the whole group look better overall. And she'd keep everyone from wearing those ankle length stuffy cotton dresses.

But in the end, I gotta say, I'm pretty glad I'm not practicing the principle.

oh...hi

Well.....
Well.....
Pretty much (if you think about it), I'm blogging. I've started this up because I think I have a lot of things to rant/rave/share/bitch about, and the same old people get sick of hearing it. And I get sick of ranting/raving/sharing/bitching about it multiple times to different crowds. I guess that means I just talk about the same stuff to the same people just at different times.
Does that make me boring? don't answer...
I guess you'll be hearing more from me later...
